RxBIO launches COVID-19 workplace testing solutions to get Ontario moving again
RxBIO is pleased to announce it is now making it easier for Ontario businesses to test for COVID-19 in the workplace by introducing two testing solutions available across Ontario.
As companies continue to navigate the post-pandemic landscape, as expected there has been an increase in staff absence due to COVID infection, self-isolation and many other reasons, which can disrupt business continuity, reduce productivity levels, as well as negatively impacting the remaining staff as they do their best to keep up productivity levels.
Businesses and employers play a key role in preventing and slowing the spread of COVID-19 within the workplace to further protect Ontario’s workforce as we work towards a swift recovery. By implementing a testing program, employers can put their employees’ minds at ease to provide them with a safe workplace, as well as reduce absenteeism.
RxBIO is providing two Health Canada approved options for testing.
These tests are conducive to large scale testing and can assist workplaces to screen individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19 from entering the workplace. Testing can help to protect employees and customers, promote consumer and supplier confidence, and help to rebuild the economy.
- Rapid (Antigen) Test
A patient-friendly, supervised self-administered Nasal swab option that delivers reliable, quick results in as little as 15 minutes to offer preliminary test results. It can be used in a wide variety of non-laboratory settings and is conducive to large scale testing as there is no special/additional instruments required.
- PCR Test
A highly accurate PCR (polymerase chain reaction) saliva testing option for consumers and corporations, which requires lab expertise with a 6–24-hour turnaround time for results after the sample has been received at the lab. PCR Tests are considered a “gold standard” in the diagnosis of COVID-19 due to its reliability and accuracy. It uses a safe, non-invasive & painless self-administered saliva collection process, suitable for at-home or large-scale testing.
For lab-based results (PCR), RxBIO has partnered with Canada Health Labs (CHL) to provide the lab-based testing services and reporting. CHL uses a fully digital patient registration, lab tracking, and test result reporting system that does not require any paper forms to avoid unnecessary delays. For enterprise-wide solutions for employers, CHL can provide customized dashboard reporting on all employees testing activity and results.
As we move towards a new ‘normal’ and businesses begin the process of reopening, COVID-19 testing will help to ensure a safe work environment for everyone.
